My story as a life coach/-talking therapist
My approach and what inspires me:
Since my studies I have been very interested in communication and psychology in addition to general medicine, and I have continuously trained myself in this area.

My mission is to guide you in a professional conversation and with appropriate tools and methodologies to your own goal by looking for your inner strength and motivation. We work together, I am an expert on the coaching process while you are an expert on your own life.

Two major pillars of my approach are:
Motivational Interviewing by William Miller and Stephen Rollnick
and
Nonviolent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg.

My way of coaching/ talk therapie is based on:
Solution focused brief therapy by Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg.

Mindfulness has been a part of my life for many years and inspires my work every day.
I also have experience with burnout and affinity with high sensitivity (HSP) and introversion .

I get further inspiration from:
Irvin Yalom, Alfie Kohn, Friedemann Schulz von Thun, Harriet Lerner, Howard Halpern, Chip & Dan Heath, Pat Patfoort, Elke Van Hoof, Ilse Sand, Byron Katie, Paul Watzlawick, Brené Brown, Carol Dweck, Morty Lefkoe, Susan Cain Brian Little, Luk Dewulf.

As a general practitioner I have always considered lifestyle medicine as being very important, because lifestyle is one of the important factors that determines our health and also how we live life.
Helping to promote a healthy lifestyle is therefore also an important part of my current work.
For this I work with the spiderweb approach of the Institute of Positive Health (iPH) and with the lifestyle wheel of the association arts en leefstijl.
